Cause-Related Marketing

Statistics don’t lie – Customers are more inclined to purchase when there is a charitable component to a product or service. Cause-related marketing is an incredible way to strengthen your customers’ loyalty while giving back to the Canadians.

Curious about how consumers view charitable partnership and cause-marketing? Here are some recent cause-marketing statistics (via Ipsos):

  • 95% of Canadian consumers agree that companies supporting good causes are a good idea
  • 84% of Canadian consumers claim they would switch brands to the one affiliated with a good cause if price and quality were similar
  • 45% of Canadian consumers consider themselves loyal to brands that support good causes
  • 39% of Canadian consumers say that a company’s affiliation with good causes is “extremely important/important” to them when making purchase decisions
  • 61% of Canadians have a high level of interest in the actual impact made. When asked how they want to find out about the impact, the top four results were on packaging (43%), at the shelf (38%), on TV (35%) and at the checkout (32%)
  • Nearly half of respondents (47%) cited “my budget at the time” as the reason they give, and 30% said because “the cause is personal to me”

Coast is open to discussing a wide variety of cause-marketing initiatives. Please connect with Sabrina via email at to discuss potential opportunities.

Corporate sponsorship is an effective way to generate media exposure, advertise your organization’s commitment to social responsibility, and build positive brand recognition from your consumer base. Coast has a variety of sponsorship packages available.

Our annual Courage to Come Back Awards was born out of our firsthand experience of the human spirit’s inspiring capacity to overcome adversity and provide those who participate the opportunity to celebrate British Columbians who have found the courage to come back!

Please connect with Alyssa via email at to discuss sponsorship availability and potential investment with the Courage To Come Back Awards.

Gift-Matching & Employee Engagement

According to a recent survey via Cone Communications on Employee Engagement, 74% of employees say their job is more fulfilling when they are provided with opportunities to make a positive impact at work. Many organizations are making the decision to match charitable contributions made by their employees either directly or via their corporate/employee foundations.

Thousands of employers across Canada match their employee’s fundraising efforts and donations. By making use of the corporate gift matching program offered by your place of work, your gift to Coast Mental Health Foundation can be doubled and even tripled!

If you currently work or previously worked for one of the companies listed below, or for one of their affiliate or subsidiary companies, and you make a contribution to Coast Mental Health Foundation, your employer will match your gift dollar for dollar. In fact, many companies will match at a higher ratio. Some companies have policies that allow former employees to have their gifts matched as well.

If your employer is not listed, please check with your human resources department, as they may have a matching gift policy in place.

How does this work?

Look for your employer’s name on the following list.
If your company is on the list, contact your corporate donations officer or human resources department for a matching gift application form.
Fill in the form according to your company’s policies, return it to the appropriate division.  Forward your matching gift form along with your donation to:

Coast Mental Health Foundation
Donor Services/Corporate Matching
293 East 11th Avenue
Vancouver, BC
V5T 2C4

Conditions and criteria for gift matching vary by employer. Some companies offer a payroll deduction plan. For more information or if you are not sure if Coast Mental Health Foundation qualifies for your company’s gift matching program or to discuss potential employee engagement please connect with Sabrina via email at

Organizations (that we are aware of) that have matching programs are listed below.
