At Coast Mental Health, our recovery and reintegration programs help people rebuild their lives after severe mental health illness and substance use issues. These transitional residential programs offer person-centered services, clinical care, life-skills training, and community support.
Healing House q’ay’tl’et ew’xw is a 17-bed live-in substance use treatment program in South Surrey that supports female-identifying and non-binary youth and young adults aged 17 to 24. Opened in 2025 and operated by Coast Mental Health in partnership with BC Children’s Hospital, the program provides trauma-informed, culturally safe, and client-centred care in a welcoming residential setting. Grounded in holistic healing and Indigenous teachings, Healing House combines clinical care with individualized and group therapy, life skills development, educational support, nature-based programming, medication management, and aftercare planning. With an average stay of three to six months, the program helps participants build resilience, strengthen well-being, and develop the skills needed for lasting recovery and successful community reintegration.
Recovery & Rehabilitation Program (R&R) is a specialized residential recovery program located on semiqwəʔelə (formerly Riverview Lands) in Coquitlam and managed by the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm First Nation. Operated by Coast Mental Health, the program supports individuals experiencing complex mental health, substance use, and trauma-related challenges through a holistic, recovery-oriented approach. The program includes Brookside (25 beds) and Hillside (16 beds), providing a total of 41 residential beds in a safe and supportive environment. Residents have access to multidisciplinary care from physicians, nurses, social workers, peer support workers, and rehabilitation professionals, along with a range of recovery-focused programming including art, music, wellness activities, cultural supports, employment services, and life skills development.
Transitional Cottage Program is a community-based mental health program located on semiqwəʔelə (formerly Riverview Lands) in Coquitlam, operated by Coast Mental Health in partnership with the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) since 2003. The program provides 41 beds across 11 cottages, supporting individuals transitioning from forensic psychiatric care back into community living. Grounded in psychosocial rehabilitation and trauma-informed practice, the program focuses on building life skills, increasing confidence, and supporting long-term recovery through individualized care.
