COVID-19 Coronavirus Response Fund
The world has never faced a crisis like COVID-19. The virus outbreak has changed all our lives. For people with mental illness, the mixture of isolation, fear and hunger, can be devastating.
We are working hard to adapt and adjust our services and programs, so that we can continue to support the thousands of people in our care. The changes we have made, and continue to make every single day are innumerable, but some examples include; daily take-out meals available for collection from The Resource Centre and Clubhouse, and critical outreach services offered virtually to help people with mental illness find shelter & healthcare support.
We’re continuing to innovate and create new solutions in response to our new operating environment, including virtual mental health therapies to help manage symptoms and the cognitive + emotional challenges of mental illness, as well as social distancing support packs for some of our more isolated clients.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Coast Mental Health Foundation has created the COVID-19 Coronavirus Response Fund. Donations to this Fund will support critical Coast Mental Health programs that are needed in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as to ensure the continuity and sustainability of mental health services impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Should the funds raised exceed the amount required to meet immediate and longer-term needs in connection with the COVID-19 crisis, excess funds will be used for services and programs that meet the greatest needs of people with mental illness in our community.
