Brain Training Changes Lives
Aaron struggled with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. He was often gripped by fear, making it difficult to engage socially, find motivation, and be productive. His life was transformed when he found housing at Coast’s Burnham Place and was introduced to the Brain Training Program. Aaron found hope in the program, and as he learned Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, he began to replace his fear with positive thinking.
“Without Brain Training, I’d probably be way more isolated and more depressed. And I would let fear takeover, like I’d think all these different things, like ’I’m kind of afraid to do this or that’ and now I’m just like, just go for it,” says Aaron with a smile.
As a result of program, Aaron has experienced significant positive changes in his life. He has become more motivated, engaged, and social. He has learned to relax in stressful situations, stop and think before reacting, and not let negative thoughts take over. These skills have enabled him to overcome some of the challenges he faces and have created space for hope to occupy his mind.
Aaron’s experience is an excellent example of the power of the Brain Training Program. The program has helped Aaron to overcome his fears and anxieties and has created space for hope to thrive. He is now more motivated, engaged, and social, and has even started volunteering at the Salvation Army. The skills he has learned through the program have given him the confidence to pursue his passions and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
“It brings me so much joy volunteering. I really like helping other people,” reflects Aaron.
