The Courage To Come Back Awards Chair, Lorne Segal
I am honoured to continue my leadership of the Courage To Come Back Awards into the 2012 campaign, which kicks off mid-December with the call for nominations and culminates in a gala evening at the Vancouver Convention Centre West on May 17th.
Each year, as I meet the honorees and learn their stories, I am struck afresh by the remarkable resilience of the human spirit. The individuals recognized by a Courage Award have each travelled a long, dark road and persevered to reach a shining, higher place. Most amazing is that, in their own recovery and survival, they go on to share their wisdom and experience to encourage those who are still struggling.
If you have attended a past Courage Awards Gala, you know it is an amazing and emotional evening. If you have not, please join us. I can promise you, you will be moved and uplifted: There is no other event like it.

Courage is amazing! It is a life-affirming event.
Everyone should be required to attend the Courage To Come Back Awards as a requirement of being human. |

Thank you all for such a very special and honouring event…such amazing people who contribute so much re-energize the spirit, inspiring thousands to be more "alive" in the world. To make a difference. To play big and to be the hero we are all meant to be. |

It was a very emotional evening. This was not an evening just to be wined and dined; we were there to listen, to be appreciative of our blessings and to become more aware of what we as individuals and as a community can do to alleviate the suffering around us. You inspired people. Very well done. |
